HAPPY 2015!

2014 was a great year for me and I thank all of you who purchased my work, supported me, and visited my studio.  I enjoyed exploring new media especially alcohol based inks.  This fluid way of creating and vivid color gave me great energy as an artist!  I could not wait to get started each day and see what could emerge on the paper!

I still enjoy watercolor and acrylic too.  I have just begun my biggest challenge yet!  My husband gave me a huge canvas for a gift and I am trying to decide where that will take me.  So far I have used gesso and modeling paste to create some textural areas.  The surface is 4 feet by 5 feet!  I will share pictures as I get into it so you can see how it evolves!

My wish for you all this NEW YEAR is that you will experience some form of artistic expression or appreciation.  Maybe you will paint or draw, or maybe dance, sculpt, act, or write.  Maybe you will attend a concert or go to an art gallery or read a book!  Maybe you will take a pottery class or attend a lecture at the Museum of Art!  Whatever you choose..you will be changed.  You will be free and enlightened.  Art is for LIFE and is there for the taking!

I am working on a series of acrylics now inspired by my recent trip to Michigan. I have a built-in love for beaches and found the fabulous dunes on Lake Michigan to be a great subject!

On July 19 I will be showing my work at the German Village Art Crawl on Macon Alley.  This is my first time doing this show!  I am very excited and honored to be chosen!  More info to come soon!
